Notes:

1.

Students enrolled part-time or full-time in a degree-granting program or an academic course of study conducted by the University are permitted to use this software for university academic purposes on personally owned or leased devices.

The University authentication system does not recognize new students as eligible until 7 days before classes begin. You can calculate eligibility dates by using these Academic Calendars.

Study Abroad students, Continuing Education students or students taking only non-credit classes are not eligible to participate in this program.

Faculty and staff who are employed and paid by the University are permitted to use this software on personally owned or leased devices. The software may only be used for work-related non-profit/non-commercial instructional, academic teaching and/or academic research purposes. 

Board of Trustees-appointed emeriti faculty are eligible to use UMail and Microsoft 365 (web-based access only; desktop software is excluded).

Adjunct faculty, affiliates, contractors, retirees and volunteers are not eligible.

Faculty and staff who are employed by the University are permitted to download, install, activate, and use this software on University owned or leased devices. The software may only be used for work-related non-profit/non-commercial instructional, academic teaching and/or academic research purposes. 

4. Students are not eligible to purchase, install or use this software on personally owned or leased computers under our existing software license agreement.

Faculty and staff are not eligible to purchase, install or use this software on personally owned or leased computers under our existing software license agreement.

However, for remote work purposes, faculty and staff may purchase, install and use a University license on their personally owned or leased computer but only for work-related non-profit/non-commercial instructional, academic teaching and/or academic research purposes.

 


University licenses

Employees who provide IT support to their organization or are IT administrators can complete our vendor access request form to request access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center (MAC) website to download install files and request access to a folder on Box containing license information and product keys.

Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 add-on subscriptions

Employees and orgnaizations can purchase the following subscription add-on products to their Microsoft 365 account. The Office of Software Licensing (OSL) offers these subscriptions on the Software Catalog (authentication is required).

After purchasing a subscription, you must complete a form that will identify all  end-users in your organization for which a license was purchased (instructions are on the order summary).  OSL will then purchase the subscriptions in a true-up process at the beginning of each month. When the subscriptions are added to our Microsoft portal, OSL provisions the subscriptions to the individual end-user accounts.

Microsoft perpetual desktop apps

Employees and organizations can purchase perpetual desktop apps for the following products:

Use is limited to University academic & administrative purposes only. The license is perpetual as long as it is compatible with your operating system.
