Planner & Project Plan 3 Instructions

How to Access

Option 1: Use Planner and Project in your browser

  1. Go to https://www.office.com
  2. Sign in with your work account (uNID@utah.edu)
  3. Open the app launcher (waffle menu) and select:
    • Planner (for task management and team collaboration)
    • Project (for project planning)

You can also access them directly:

Option 2: Install the Project desktop app (optional)

  1. Go to https://portal.office.com/account
  2. Select My Account > Apps & devices
  3. Locate Project and select Install
    Note: If Project is not listed, select Other install options or check https://www.microsoft365.com under your apps.

Getting Started

  • Planner is best for lightweight task tracking, team collaboration, and Kanban-style boards
  • Project for the web provides more structured planning with timelines, dependencies, and roadmaps
  • The Project desktop app offers advanced scheduling and resource management
  • Files and plans can be shared and collaborated on via OneDrive or SharePoint
